We all know New York City is broken up by neighborhood, each embracing their own identity. This can cause major challenges when deciding a specific outfit for a specific occasion. While rummaging through my closet on a night were I would be dining uptown, but grabbing drinks downtown I was in quite a dilemma. Do I wear fancy shmancy cocktail attire or dress my look down with jeans and a sweater? I found a happy medium in this all-black look from Hellessy. I'll be wearing this to some of my favorite spots in the city which I highly recommend to score an amazing meal for a Restaurant Week deal.
ABC KITCHEN (lunch only)
JAMS
I could wax poetic about the celebrity-chef Jonathan Waxman (get it?, hehe). Barbuto (a Mr. Waxman spot) has a very special place in my heart as a go-to for an easy chicken dinner and kale salad that has yet to rivaled. When Mr. Waxman (head chef) opened Jams, an Upper West Side outpost, I was more than willing to take the 6 uptown to experience life on 58th and 6th.
MISSION CHINESE
A mainstay of NYC restaurants, this Chinese food hot-spot has been popular since its opening only a few years back. The club vibes and dark lit spot only makes the space more appealing and unique compared to your humdrum Chinese spots around town.
IL BUCO ALIMENTARI
Not to be confused with its sister restaurant, Il Buco, this is one of my favorite Italian spots in Noho. A real treat in terms of a dining experience, with everything being absolutely exceptional. I personally love the short rib dish, but any dish will do for an unforgettable meal.

I didn't realise attire was so broken up between the different neighbourhoods in NY! I find it really interesting because where I live, you can pretty much wear anything in any neighbourhood in the city. It's when you leave the the city for the smaller town you need to start dressing down haha
ReplyDeleteLove your look though. It's so chic and very sophisticated.

Thanks Shannon! It really is crazy how different neighborhoods have their own identities! I know in areas that are more spread out you can wear similar styles and not feel out of place. I guess it is one of the many ways that makes New York so unique.

It is always a safe bet for sure!
DeleteBlack is always beautiful, but a coat draped over your shoulders would be ultra-chic.
