WHERE TO GO, WHAT TO WEAR: BEHIND THE SEAMS AT THE PALEY CENTER FOR MEDIA

I've lived in New York City for over six years now and have yet to attend an event at The Paley Center for Media. The Paley Center plays host to a variety of discussions with men and women of note making strides in their professions. Past events include talks between Jerry Seinfeld and David Letterman, screenings of past critically acclaimed shows and movies, and popular entertainment. I am always on the lookout for upcoming events that spark my interest, like the upcoming event titled Behind the Seams featuring Nina Garcia, Zac Posen and Joanna Coles. This fashionable trio will be covering the impact television plays in the world of fashion. Expecting quite the fashion forward crowd, I've been planning my look ahead for an event like this one. I want to remain sophisticated, but on-trend for this fashionable function on December 12th.

I chose this fun Viva Aviva ruffle skirt with a classic black turtleneck sweater and a pair of jeweled mules for the occasion. I figured this was fitting for the holiday season, keeping in the line with the festiveness of December dressing. I love the layered tiers with its alternating solid and print fabric. Teaming the look with a basic black knit and jeweled mules felt right-on trend for an event that sparks conversation about the colliding nature of fashion and culture in television.
