WHERE TO GO, WHAT TO WEAR: THE LATEST AND GREATEST IN THE CITY

I love finding a new hot spot in New York City. A place saturated with cocktail lounges, kooky performance art clubs and dance spots, it is hard to weed out the good, the bad, and the stale. In the past few months, a couple places opened their doors to rave reviews and an even harder door to get by. This is a roundup of just a few places that have garnered my attention and all which I fully intend on experiencing first hand- once I'm let in of course:)

The Public
The Public hotel opened this past year, but is is the downstairs club that really sparks my interest. The cocktail lounge and bar on the upper level of this Lower East Side hotel serves tasty cocktails in a hip and happening setting. Public Arts is the hotel's space where theater, performance art and late night dancing collide. The hotel utilizes the space for an array of activities, but the dance club is a sure-fire hit and one not to be missed.

What to Wear:
You might be in the Lower East Side, but you will want to retain that level of Studio 54 glamour for this fashion-centric scene. A sleek look with a leather trouser, will turn every head in line as you pass through the velvet ropes.

The Spaniard
A new West Village gem that is being crowned as one of the best date spots, this whiskey focused bar offers an array of cocktails to satisfy even the most difficult Bumble date. A pub-like feel, it is generally a fan favorite during happy hour and a crowd pleaser during the weekend. If your are looking for a quaint, but rustic place to get a drink, this is your place.

What to Wear:
The West Village is hardly a fashion forward crowd. A cocktail of industries, this mixer will include every profession under the sun. I find I dress my most relaxed in the West Village, which is why this Wayf top with a tweed jacket is the perfect on-trend, but not over-trend look for the night out.

Westlight
Situated on the top floor of the William Vale, this Willimsburg spot has been a hit since its opening. The 360 degree views of the Manhattan skyline don't hurt the experience either. The line gets a bit long, so come early and leave early to avoid the crowd. This is a great place to stop for a few drinks before heading to some Bushwick raves when your night really beings at 12 am.

What to Wear:
When in Brooklyn, do as Brooklynites do...be bold. I love this Carven leopard coat (from last year), but styles like this and this are just as good. I teamed it with a mini dress, but any thigh-high grazing garment will do when dancing till 4 in the morning.

  1. I love your leopard print coat! I’ve had a big faux fur one in my wardrobe for years but it’s getting to the point where it needs replacing because there are holes in the pocked lining, I just haven’t found the perfect one to replace it yet.
