BLOUSE: Hellessy | PANTS: Hellessy | CLUTCH: Gucci | SHOES: Aquazzara (sold out, these are similar) | EARRINGS: BaubleBar
Il Mulino is the prolithic Italian restaurant one thinks about when imagining the ultimate New York spot. On any given night you may see a high-flying celeb, a famous rapper or event the most intellectual of literary geniuses dining inside this Greenwich Villages gem. It's so famous Drake even raps about it in one of his songs. I love Il Mulino for its old school charms, its draped windows and strict dress code that forbids the lackadaisical shorts and tee-shirt type of ensemble. This is the type of place one may google for style inspiration before heading over for your meal. You don't want to be over-dressed or even under-dressed when dining at this famous outpost.
Ok, so for the record jeans are totally acceptable, but think about the outfit before pairing it with flats and a sweater. The website alludes to a more refined way of dressing, which should always be taken into deep consideration when looking the part.
This blue on blue outfit would certainly wow the crowd at any spot. I especially love the deep color and sumptuous satin fabric of the look. These Hellessy pants are made from a beautiful silk jacquard and could easily be paired with a more relaxed button down, or even a crisp tee-shirt. I know earlier I mentioned my disdain for tee-shirts, but when the pant is this fabulous, you can get away with a more casual piece on top. Find a pair of silky trousers like these or these for a true New York look!
This fabulous Hellessy top is made of the most beautiful blue turquoise. It is obvious I have a sweet spot for all things Hellessy, and this top is no different. If you are looking for a friendlier price option, I found these silky tops from DVF , J.Crew and Club Monaco (
on sale, yay!).
Just in case you forget, don't skimp on the accessories! This Gucci clutch is the needed pop to add a spark to the entire ensemble. Find a bright clutch in a bold color and pair it with your monochromatic look. I am loving this style for under $100! Couple it with a fantastic earring like this one from Baublebar (love these too) and you are good to go!
