Hot Spot: Barbuto

I've definitely mentioned Barbuto before. It is by far one of my most favorite restaurants in the city. The food is wonderful, the crowd is great and the location is perfect for downtown goers. When summer Fridays begin, my go-to is always Barbuto for lunch.

Situated on Washington St. in the West Village, the neighborhood spot is a west siders dream. Casual, cozy, sceney and absolutely delicious!

In fact, if you ask any New Yorker about Barbuto, you would be hard pressed to find someone who doesn't list the restaurant as one of their favorites. While the American style menu seams fairly simple, the food is anything but that. Most New York restaurants are decked out in a theme, with over the top adornments and interior design. Barbuto is a neighborhood spot that could easily be dubbed a random brunch spot. Tucked inside an old garage, the metal chairs and bare bone interior is unassuming and makes for a great hotspot in the West Village. This is how Barbuto is done the right way:

1. Start with a Kale Salad: It is peppered with pecorino flakes, breadcrumbs and anchovy dressing. So perfect!
2. Continue with the Burrata: Seasoned with mint and strawberries with grilled bread. Exceptional!
3. Share the Chicken: I promise it will be some of the best chicken you've ever had!

I know the meal sounds simple, but the American menu will satisfy even the pickiest of eaters. Enjoy!
