WHAT I'M WEARING THIS VALENTINE'S DAY TO THE AMERICAN MUSEUM OF NATURAL HISTORY'S ROMANCE UNDER THE STARS

Unlike Valentine's Days in the past, this year I'll be hoping for a ticket to The American Museum of Natural History's Romance Under the Stars.  Perhaps the most romantic event in all of New York, Valentine's will never be the same after it is celebrated under the stars of the Planetarium. Cocktails and light bites are served while listening to a live quartet before a night of romantic stories from the past are told.

Obviously, if you are heading to this fabulous soiree, you'll want to don a romantic and professionally chic look. Since Valentine's Day falls on a Wednesday, most of us will be running from work to our night's festivities. I always shy on the side of over-dressed, than under-dressed and this is the most opportune occasion to embrace that way of thinking.

I loved the sumptuous velvet fabric of this Milly skirt with this off-the-shoulder Theory look (on sale too!). Pairing it with an acrylic, glitter clutch and a heeled boot certainly elevates the look from work-status to a date-status ensemble. I also prefer to shy away from your stereotypical red on the celebratory day of love. Choose a rich, velvet fabrication to set the romantic mood as opposed to a bold, red hue.
