It's no surprise I love the entire Sachin & Babi collection. I've posted various Sachin & Babi looks on my Instagram and even wore a look by the husband and wife duo to my wedding. This past month I was able to take a sneak peek at their Spring line in their store uptown on Madison Ave. I had access to the entire store and since my visit was during the "bomb cyclone", I didn't have much shopping competition being the streets were still icy and wet.
Winter weddings can be incredibly challenging to attend as a guest. Not necessarily the travel portion, but the styling part. In all honesty I haven't been to many winter weddings, but I have been to events that require cocktail or evening attire during the dreary and cold months. The one positive of a winter wedding however plays into the formal level of the given occasion. I always find wintertime events allow one to elevate their look in either a fuller skirt, bolder color or more sumptuous fabric.
There are several reasons I love this hi/low look from Sachin & Babi. Beyond the fact it is a beautiful dress, there is true function to this fashionable frock.
- The Hi/low silhouette is ideal for the winter (not to mention a must-have style at The Golden Globes). There is no need to worry about the hem dragging on the wet ground from the remnants of a possible snow fall. I also love that you could easily pair this look with a pair of flats for an equally stylish look without looking frumpy.
- The dark color is appropriate for the winter season, but the silver ground floral print takes the look forward into Spring.
- Not to mention again, but anytime I can pair my look with a ballet flat is a win!
