WHERE TO GO, WHAT TO WEAR: THE SURF LODGE

Every summer, New Yorkers pack up their travel bags and leave the island in search of reprieve from the bustling city crowds. Some folks head to the North Fork while others may head to the Jersey Shore.  But by far one of the most popular weekend destinations is "out East" -- otherwise known as the Hamptons. If you head far enough you will hit "The End of the World" as some refer to as Montauk. In recent years Montauk has become a microcosm of in-the-know New Yorkers looking for New York City fun within the constraints of a sleepy beach town. Bars, lounges and restaurants alike open their doors creating a city escape that closely resembles New York nightlife.  The vibes are definitely beach chic and casual cool in Montauk.  The Surf Lodge is the king of Montauk nightlife, drawing in customers from top celebs to club owners to pretty account execs from top fashion brands to models to successful young city folks; basically a melting pot of the city's elite. If you are anything like me, you are already sweating out the details of your outfit and pondering over the many options as to what to wear to this beach side hot-spot. There are a few looks I like to don for an occasion like this:

THE BOHO GIRL
(Dress: Ulla Johnson, Sandals: Zara)

Choose a dress that best taps into your ultimate "boho" style. I personally love anything by Ulla Johnson, like this one photographed, but any boho focused brand will make the grade. Find a style with a fun, ditsy floral that will automatically sweeten the overall look.

THE DENIM JEAN
(Tunic: Hellesey, Jeans: GRLDFRND, Sandals: Zara, Handbag: V&R)

I love a pair of good denim jeans. I generally gravitate to the high-waist, hip-hugging ones, like these from GRLFRND. Pair your jeans with a flowing tunic top, like this Hellesey one for an elevated denim look that resonates with the city-chic crowd.

THE SLIP DRESS
(Dress: Hellesey, Handbag: CJW, Scarf: CJW, Shoes: Sorelle)

Slip dresses and sandals have been my go-to all summer for those early evening drinks. I've been living in my Nili Lotan slip since the weather hit a high of 80 degrees. Keep the accessories casual for fear of looking like a wedding guest rather than a Montauk beach goer.
