CABO VACA

Vacation in the cooler months are the best. Nothing is better than heading to a warm destination when the weather cools down and the coats come out. This go around my fiance and I headed to Los Cabos, on the coast of Baja California Sur. Never having been to Mexico, I really was unsure what to pack and expect. We have only traveled to Caribbean destinations for beach vacas, but with Zika on the rise we felt it was best to head west this time and experience something new.

We chose to stay at the One and Only Palmilla, an absolutely beautiful resort with exquisite views, amazing service and exceptional food. The Palmilla, as many call it, boasts massive, landscaped grounds with a world service spa, four incredible restaurants and two wonderful pools. I have been fortunate to have stayed at the One and Only in the Bahamas, but this Cabo location takes the cake. I honestly cannot rave enough about our stay and it may be one of my favorite resorts yet.

I was super hesitant when I was packing. Traveling to new locales always puts me on high alert. You just never know what type of adventure you may stumble upon. In preparation for our stay at the Palmilla I did some research via Instagram to scout out ensemble inspiration. I chose to stick with a "boho travel" theme including florals, embroidery and cutouts. Plus in true NY Blonde fashion, an off the shoulder top never goes out of style. Here it works great as both a swimsuit cover up and a blouse to head to breakfast:)

I also like to keep it simple for swimsuit wear. Black bikins are a personal favorite and so easy to mix and match on vacations. I chose to interchange a black pair of bikini briefs with a strapless top and spaghetti strap top. Here I am making my way to the pool bar, just a swim away:)

The pools looked over the expansive Sea of Cortez. The beautiful beach stretches along the coast line, spreading out over Cabo. We tried to walk the strip, but the rocks proved difficult, so we stayed close by and took in the scenic views.

A lonesome hammock was built into the beach by the resort. I loved relaxing in the low hung net, while the waves washed over the sand. A special feature that reminded you of being a deserted island.

As usual, golfing is generally an activity my fiance takes part in, so I decided to "caddy" and drive around the course with him. No, I did not play in these gladiator sandals and beach cover up. However, I did feel my outfit was perfect to accompany him during the 18 hole trip:)

Cabo quickly became one of my favorite hot spots for vacation. While many have been venturing to Mexico for a beach for some time, it was all new to me and all very exciting. I know Mexico will now become part of our regular vacation repertoire go forward. With views like below and weather to beat, you can't go wrong!
