The Dress Wore Her

Discovering a last minute black tie event is not much fun. Recently, I was given a three day notice of a charity ball I would be attending for a friend's work event. While I am not complaining of the opportunity, I am noting the difficulty of finding a last minute ensemble. Fortunately, I had the time to scour the internet and scored this wonderful Tadashi Shoji gown for an overnight delivery service. This dark, navy gown features copious tiers of navy, silk ruffles which cascade down the gown. It was quite a find and it is such a beauty!

I decided to pair the gown with minimal makeup and jewlery. This dress is too stunning for words and I wanted all the attention on the gown. I also paired it with a cropped leather jacket. I liked the downtown/uptown look. The leather jacket gives edge to this otherwise, very lady like gown. If the painting behind me me looks familiar, it is because it is a Pop-Neo painting of Daniel Craig as James Bond. It was painted by a New York artist and friend, Tripp. I figured this gown made me the closest thing to a bond girl so posing by this painting was most appropriate.
